[vacancy] Electrical Engineer - Maintenance for Kuwait



We are looking for Electrical Engineer (Maintenance) for a long term contract (12-24 months) for our Client, a European MNC, for their projects in Kuwait.

Candidate should be BE or Diploma in Electrical with relevant experience of 5 - 10 years in Power Transmission & Distribution sector. Candidate has to perfom preventive maintenance , emergency work , repair for installation type B65 - B95 - T65 - C65 - S105 - B105   and make retrofit, overhauling. At least 5 years experience on Areva / Alstom Equipments like Gas Insulated Substations / Switchgears (GIS) is a must.

Job Profile details are as follows:

 

1 - General Knowledge:

 

-         Risks and means of prevention linked with handling/work at height/electrical current/use of pressurized tank/SF6 gas

-         Principle of operation of GIS equipment

-         Reading an assembly drawing

-         Reading an installation drawing/a cable routing drawing

-         Principle of operation of  hydraulic mechanisms

-         Principle of operation of  Local Cubicle Control

-         Principle of operation of Spring Operating Mechanism

-         Principle of operation of Earthing Switch

-         Operation's process on contaminated compartments

-         Test Sheet and Reporting

 

2 – Standard maintenance

 

-         M2 procedure

-         M4 procedure with hydraulic mechanism

-         M4 procedure with spring mechanism

 

3 – Main actions for M2 maintenance of GIS installation:

 

-         Compartments Gas inspection : 

·         SF6 pressure measurement

·         Moisture content : dew point , ppm value

·         SF6% measurement

·         Acidity and density  checking

·         SF6 Tightness checking

 

-         Circuit Breaker inspection :

·         tripping coil , motor , heater

·         filling & bleeding : pump , rams, control piping

·         Nitrogen pre-inflation ( accumulator ) : pressure rising and dropping

·         Pressure switch thresholds : Pump , closing ( unlocking – locking ) , trip

·         Check oil tank level, filter

·         Check timing : open, close , tripping ...

 

-         CT and VT checking :

·         wiring connection and labeling

 

-         Isolators and E/S  mechanical inspection

·         manual, electrical checking : open close

·         Interlock checking

·         Various inspections: heating, wiring connections, rod& shaft …

·         Motor current measurement

 

-         Functional test for local cubical

·         Isolator. E/S, CB

·         Hydraulic alarm and interlock

·         Gas monitoring

 

4 - Mission on station in Service

 

-          Control of safety CHECK-LIST

-          Procedure for obtaining a work permit

-          Evaluation of the condition of the equipment according of the number of cut-offs

-          Dismantling, inspection and re-assembly of all the components using the special tools and according to the instructions.

-          Inspection of equipment after dismantling following an incident

-          Commissioning and specific test after intervention

-          Material needs definition for a repair

 

5 - Specific Operations on a Major Failure

            

      -  Circuit Breaker, Disconnector, Earthing Switch, Other GIS devices:

 

·         Knowledge of the lubrication procedure

·         Removal and installation of the breaker pole from/into the Bay.

·         Life Part removal from tank using special tools

·         Commissioning and specific testing after major examination

·         Location of Flashover

·         Dismantling, inspection and re-assembly of the various Life Part components

·         S02 Measures - Knowledge of the levels acceptance - Results interpretation

·         Diagnostic of GIS internal parts

·         Diagnosis after a flashover

 

      -  HYDRAULICS

 

·         Detailed knowledge of the operation of Mechanisms

·         Using the Special Tools remove from the cubicle the components to be overhauled

·         Dismantling, inspection and re-assembly of all the components of the ram using the special tools and following the instructions

·         Dismantling and installation of hydraulic pipe systems

·         CH2, CH3  & CH4 Mechanisms: Dismantling, inspection and re-assembly of all the internal components using the special tools and following the instructions.

·         Commissioning and specific testing after a major examination

·         Troubleshooting

 

       -  SPRING MECHANISMS

 

·         Knowledge of the operating principle

·         Knowledge of the lubrication method

·         Use of specific tools

·         Knowledge of the measurement method on dashpot, roller play & over travel

·         Adjustment of the breaker timing

·         Dismantling, inspection evaluation of mechanical wear, re-assembling & adjustment

·         Troubleshooting
